However, as both &quot;money&quot; in the incorrect quote and &quot;love&quot; in the correct quote are subjects (grammatically), I claim that either may be seen as the ROOT of evil.

What I am saying in short is that while one quote is correct and one is not, they are both GRAMMATICALLY correct.
